You are looking at the busiest Highway in North America. Better known as Highway 401 a U.S. Department of Transportation study concluded that the highway through Toronto is officially the busiest stretch of freeway anywhere in North America. The average daily traffic is anywhere from 450,000 to 500,000 vehicles.

  3. That is impressive. I don't envy those who have to drive there each day.

  5. There would have been one less vehicle except for that one wrong exit with boat in tow on the way to Lake Simcoe several years ago. You captured the essence of the journey well. Now both hands back on the wheel please.

  6. Yuk. I would have thought some freeway in LA would have the 'honor' of being the busiest highway.

  10. Wow, I'm amazed! This looks pretty typical by S CA freeway standards. I would have guessed that our 405 or perhaps the 5 freeways in LA would have won this dubious honor!

  11. Wow, I wouldn't be happy facing this everyday day especially in the wintertime. Madness and mayhem! I love the sky, it matches the scene perfectly.

  12. Ack! I'm so happy traffic isn't anything like that down here.
