| The golden light you see in the background on the right hand side is from the Royal Bank Plaza Towers. They have been insulated for heat by having the windows covered with a very thin coating of 24 carat gold leaf. The 41 and 26 storey towers have a total of 14,000 windows, covered with 2,500 ounces (70,875 grams) of gold, valued at over one million dollars. |

What a strange idea some people can have that gold means richdom. Reminds me of that awful golden Trump Tower in NY I once had a look inside the hall.

ReplyDeleteUhm...that makes quite a royal statement, doesn't it? I'm not sure how I'd feel if my bank coated its exterior with gold, leaf or any other form, as insulation or sheer extravagance.
