...but where is the front fender?
ReplyDeleteA bike in it's simplest form, I used to have one without hand brakes until in my twenties.
ReplyDeleteThat is all I ever had as a kid, Andy!
ReplyDeleteA simple old-fashioned bike that still has to captivate its owner, I imagine.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of my dad's bike. When I was young, I loved riding it because it was so simple.
ReplyDelete...no hand brakes and dynamo powered lights...
ReplyDeleteI learned to ride a bike with a bike like this. It was simple and easy.
ReplyDeletei remember these bikes Andy... they took a lot of hard work to get up long hills... this was a good find and it is has been well cared for....peter:)
ReplyDeleteThey were also very easy to pedal.
ReplyDeleteSimple but it just do the job.
ReplyDeleteI like it.
ReplyDeletea nice capture of days gone by!!
ReplyDeleteYou remind me that we've left behind a lot of "made simple" products.
ReplyDeleteYes--- I remember my first bike. An good ol' Schwinn, not one of those British styles (I got one of those later).
ReplyDeleteBelieve this bike is set up as a fix rear gear so the rider must keep peddling to allow the bike to move. Braking is accomplished by peddle pressure in the opposite direction (not strong braking action). Only a serious rider would have a bike this with no ability to coast.
