Barn Charm

Originally founded in 1912 by the Smith Family. George Smith was a cattler who purchased land to raise his prized purebred Holsteins. In the late 1970’s, a decision was made to disperse the herd and to expand the small apple orchard behind the barn in order to shift the family business toward fruit production. In 1995 the barn was coverted in to a winery and Ocala Winery opened to the public as a licensed Ontario winery.

The cameras are identified as a priority safety countermeasure to reduce T-bone collisions at intersections. Red-light running has the potential to cause serious injury or death for both the offending driver and innocent victims. The fine for running a red light in Ontario (issued by a red-light camera or otherwise) is $325. Offence notices are generated and distributed to the registered owner of the vehicle. As a vehicle-based offence, no demerit points are issued as the driver of the vehicle is not known.
