Barn Charm

Originally founded in 1912 by the Smith Family. George Smith was a cattler who purchased land to raise his prized purebred Holsteins. In the late 1970’s, a decision was made to disperse the herd and to expand the small apple orchard behind the barn in order to shift the family business toward fruit production. In 1995 the barn was coverted in to a winery and Ocala Winery opened to the public as a licensed Ontario winery.

  1. A bit of history there and interesting building.
Granny Smith apples was the first thing that came into my head when I saw the last name as Smith and apples.

  3. An unusual color for a barn, but it looks to be in good condition. Glad it has found to be useful in a new life.
