Chickadee

Andy | Sunday, January 01, 2023 | Best Blogger Tips

You'll often see them at tray, tube or hopper feeders, especially in winter. They like suet, peanuts, peanut butter, black oil sunflower and seeds. Chickadees will visit the feeder at high speed, grab some seed and depart in a flash. That makes them difficult to photograph. Chickadees are an example of a bird who stays around for the winter months. They have special adaptations so they can stay warm during the winter.

  1. Whenever I see a Chicadee I welcome it with a phrase sung "Chick- a - dee- dee- dee!"

  5. This is probably the most common bird I see in the winter. They are always active and seldom sit sill, so your photo of this one is great.

  9. I read about a new bird feeder with a built-in camera that would take a photo whenever a bird visited. The device would also be able to identifie the species.
