That is a long time, will it ever be realized?
ReplyDeleteIt is a long time. The land is owned by the Federal Government and the plans are still in the works. It is just a matter of time.
DeleteLooks like the trouble with money still keeps the airport at bay.
ReplyDeleteJust what is needed, a bigger airport with longer runways and security lines. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteI hate to see the farmlands diminishing.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! Again! It looks like the "war" has been successful up to now. But, it's hard to stop an airport when the powers-that-be make up their minds!
ReplyDeleteFarm land has been converted to other purposes for centuries. Acres of Iowa farm land, some of the riches on earth, are being paved over every year. Interesting sign.
ReplyDeleteIf it is STILL slated I think it will be.
ReplyDeleteI really wonder if anything will come of it, Andy!
ReplyDeleteHwy. 407 is not there for nothing.
DeleteI had friends whose land was expropriated. Her father was still bitter up to his death about 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteWow! I thought eugene Oregon held the record for long term planning. ( or dithering, depending which side of the development fence you sit on).
ReplyDeleteThe sign has worked for half a century so far . . .
ReplyDeleteWe lose more and more farmland to things like this, not to mention developers building sprawling suburbs.
ReplyDeletewe have the same problems with the future (?) Nantes airport
ReplyDeleteIn Berlin we were already supposed to have a new airport. It now won't be ready until 2017. Although I hope they won't close the old one, it's so convenient.
