Mallard Ducks

A male and female, with the male in the lead. The poor guy has lost some of his colourful head feathers.

  4. These are my favorite birds. Love this photo very much! Yes, the poor guy isn't very colorful but strong and great! And she is wonderful also.

  5. Ducks do molt and grow new feathers. I had to look closely at the male to see he was a Mallard.
