Pointe Mitis Lighthouse

The Steel Concrete Company of Montreal commenced construction of new, cylindrical reinforced-concrete lighthouse at Pointe Metis, Matane in 1906. It was completed in 1908. The two dwellings and fog alarm building were transferred to the Department of Natural Resources in 1978, and the fog alarm building was transformed into a laboratory for researching various insects and marine species in the area.

  5. I would like to see a real lighthouse one day. I live on a lake and we have a lighthouse meant to look like the one at Peggys Cove for some reason lol! Just what we need in the middle of Alberta.
