Sunny 16 Rule
Starting today I will be posting some of my favourite photos daily, until the last day of 2020. Sunny day photos of snow can result in over exposure. Here's a trick I learned from Bryan Peterson to get the correct exposure every time. It is called the sunny 16 rule. Set camera to manual, aperture f16, shutter speed 200 and iso 200.

Good one, Andy!
ReplyDelete...something I need to try.
ReplyDeleteNice snowy shot!
ReplyDeleteAs you say, photographing snow is always a problem as cameras want to see snow as gray, not white. Setting the camera manually makes perfect sense. Your photo today looks like it could have been shot right here in eastern SD.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! Great photo.
ReplyDeleteGood advice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene! The Sunny 16 is an old, but reliable guideline.
ReplyDeleteI must try that next time we go see snow.
ReplyDeleteGreat read thanks for sharing this
