They say less than 9% of Canada’s plastic waste gets recycled. The rest ends up landfills, incinerators, and the environment where it destroys ecosystems, leaches toxic chemicals, and harms wildlife.
There have been some breakthrough developments in reusing the plastic in resurfacing roads and even making fabrics. But the real change will come when "plastic" can be made from biodegradable plant material.
...I've always thought that recycling is just theater! It's important, but doesn't often play out.

ReplyDeletePlastic water bottles are an environmental disaster, and selling bottled water is a con. Soda pop companies just found a new way to make money.
