A strange thing happen to me the day I took this photo. A flashback to February 3, 2012 and I'm trying to think of something for today's 365 self photo number 247. It came into my mind that I should go to a sandy beach on Lake Ontario and write my name in sand. So off I went. Afterwards when I got home that's when what I thought was something strange happen. I turned on my computer and surfed to the Urban Muser's "In The Picture" web page. I wanted to find out the theme for February. Wow! What a surprise to see that the February theme is "write on!" What a coincidence. How did I get that message into my mind. Does the Urban Muser have the power of mental telepathy? I'm linking to In The Picture.

how cool!! love the whispy water!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool, mental telepathy sound like a great thing to have. NIce idea to write in the sand!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, love the blurriness of the waves in the background. So tell us your prediction for March and let's test that telepathy out!
ReplyDeleteMy prediction for March is in the dark... a night shot.
DeleteI noticed you are wearing sandals. You may have telepathic urges but I'd also guess that before you finished taking this picture you had cold feet! I wear sandals all year round but I live in Florida for crying out loud!
ReplyDeleteOh, btw, as I've mentioned to EG, about 1/2 of all Ontario is currently in Ocala!
Also, btw, love the shot!
Great shot! I never thought to go write on the sand!
ReplyDeleteA really cool photo:)
ReplyDeleteHey Andy...I really love this image. You've captured you in two ways-that's wonderful. The blur of the wave makes a great backdrop. Hope you didn't get your toes wet. I find the beach such an inspiration and caught some self images there too.
ReplyDeleteOn another note. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the word verification "thing" on your page. Everytime I have to do that I want to scream. It's making me NUTS. I hope the word gets around to all. Have a great day.
To get the blur of the wave I had the shutter speed set to 1/5 of a second. It was a bit of a challenge for an old guy like me to sit there in that position with out moving.
Deletegreat image...love the movement of the water.
ReplyDeletelove the story behind this!
I think she does. :) Love this shot and how the waves are creeping up.

Awesome story! Great job getting the blur of the water while holding yourself so still.
ReplyDeleteHey there, Andy! Got a quick break out from behind the China Firewall to link to {in the picture} and to visit you... it's no small feat! Posting to my blog is difficult so I started a Flickr account just for this little project. I didn't realize that you're already well on your way with these selfies.. good for you! This one is terrific... and your story is so cool. I took my shot today when I had completely forgotton about this month's theme... so there's a bit of telepathy here too! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteMental telepathy! Cool. Neat idea for a picture! Thanks for being word-verification-free.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat photo and what a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteLook at you! Ahead of the game! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteSpooky
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool shot!
ReplyDeleteCool, Andy!
ReplyDeleteNice shot. Taken by your wife? :)
ReplyDeleteIt was my three legged wife that helped me. My tripod.
DeleteWell, somehow we must have been mentally connected this month Andy. I love your shot! Thanks so much for linking up at {in the picture} today!
ReplyDeleteI love the out of focus water in this shot and the way your name might just be washed away and "Andy" will turn to "sAndy"!
ReplyDeleteThis is fun, isn't it?!
By the way, I'm so relieved you have removed your word verification. I have too, I think!
Nice shot
ReplyDeleteI love that soft wave ready to wipe the sand clean. beautiful and contemplative
ReplyDeleteOh, that wave is beautiful!! It's pretty amazing that you were able to sit that still!! Wonderful image, love your name in the sand!
ReplyDeleteSynchronicity! I love the quiet, intent pose, the clear name, and the moving wave.
