| The original Bluenose was launched as a Grand Banks fishing and racing schooner on 26 March 1921 in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Look at a Canadian dime and you will see it is emblazoned with a fishing schooner that became famous for speed and perseverance. As a racing schooner, she was undefeated in her 18 year career and became a Canadian icon. Bluenose II is a replica that sails out of her home port of Lunenburg a UNESCO World Heritage site on Nova Scotia's South Shore. |
