Well, that's okay with me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I read that, too. This is a nice send-off. We had a 1960 Bug, but it didn't last long. We were living in Chicago and the car had no heater. Also, we had two kids and the four of us had a hard time fitting in that car. It was kinda fun, though. Re your question: I believe I took those photos on a Monday when they place is pretty much shut down, although there isn't a lot of activity in the Great Room during the week except at night when they hold classes on various topics and "Happier Hour" spills over from the restaurant.
ReplyDelete...now this one is a classic!
ReplyDeleteReally??? Will there be a 4th generation, I wonder, or will they go back to an earlier generation??? How can you beat the first generation, right...or the Bug!
ReplyDeleteNo loss there then, never had the same attraction to me as the one in the photos
ReplyDeleteMany years ago (and I do mean many), I rode in a VW bug to California with a friend who owned the car. That had to be the most uncomfortable ride I've ever taken in a vehicle. I remember we took her car for the gas mileage because it was during the gas shortage crisis. I think they are a little more comfortable now but, I wouldn't know that for sure because I've never been in one since.
ReplyDeleteHa strong design from mr. Porsche
ReplyDeleteI adore this bug, it was my second car, it was sky blue. A best
ReplyDeleteMy parents had a couple of the older models like this one at various points.
ReplyDeleteI always like the bug. I had a 64 bug back in 1977, it was blue too but didn't look as good as the one in your photo.
ReplyDeleteBuen retrato de este clásico. El color es magnífico. Un abrazo
ReplyDeleteThey were fun to drive but they sure were cold in the winter - at least the old ones were!
ReplyDeleteMooie foto, ik ben gek op de Volkswagen Kever.
ReplyDeleteGroet kees.
I always liked this car even I have never owned it or had a ride.
ReplyDeleteYou found a really old one VW, it's beautiful.
That's an especially nice one!
ReplyDeleteNice bug!
ReplyDeleteI always have liked the VW!
ReplyDeleteGosh, the beetle once popular here.
ReplyDeleteSuch a reliable standard. We had a '65 in '67 and a '73 in '81-'84.
