Now that is something I hadn't thought about in many years. When I was a kid I'd go with my dad to a local junkyard so he could look for a part he needed. As I recall he always found it.
All of these things would need to be recycled and are not. We have the same kind of place here in France and it's a sad fact. If only our photos helped to realize what they do as evil to our poor planet
Those in the business never call them junk yards. They are salvage yards or recycling centers, and yes, they are a great source of hard to find car parts as well as a perfect place to take photographs as your photos shows.

ReplyDeleteYes it does. Interesting place. One of my high school classmates used to have a business like this.
ReplyDeleteYou discovered a goldmine for the photographer. Hope to see some more Andy.
ReplyDeleteThey could use the place for a film set, Andy!
ReplyDeleteExcept there would probably be no clear path through it!

ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of one on a country road near where I grew up.

ReplyDelete...a hoarder paradise.
ReplyDeleteThose things have been there a rather long time and every town has a place like in your photo..
ReplyDeleteYou're right--- it is apocalyptic! It's less jammed with stuff than many.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that expression 'one man's junk is another man's treasure' 😀
