Abandoned Veterans Village

Location: London, Ontario. Built in 1946, the Western Counties Health and Occupational Center served as a rehabilitation center for World War II veterans, not only as a physiotherapy center where vets could recuperate, but as training grounds to reenter civilian life. Over time, the patient population began to dwindle, and by 1984, patients were moved to new facilities. The building was completely abandoned by the year 2000.

  1. it needs a new life, agree. so it is cheaper to abandon than re-purpose, rent, sell... it seems like a nice building.

  2. A building that still remains seems to be in good condition and reminds us of a convent. Amazing

  4. Seems a shame to let this building sit there empty. It looks in good shape.

  12. Shame when a building is abandoned, especially when if looked after it could've have been housing for someone.
