...rows and rows of the fallen!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that he was buried there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and simple headstone in honour of one of the fallen soldiers.
ReplyDeleteHe was a very brave soldier. I think they made a movie about him.
ReplyDeleteAnother great pic, Andy!
ReplyDeleteGosh Audie is a very old fashioned name, one you don't hear of much these days.
ReplyDeleteit's a good scan Andy... was Audie L. Murphy one of your ancestors....peter:)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't surprise me that he'd be buried there.
ReplyDeleteThere are many heroic stories buried there.
ReplyDeleteHe has a second career as a movie actor doing war films and westerns.
ReplyDeleteThe most decorated hero of WWII. His mental stress from those days contributed to many problems in his life after that.
ReplyDeleteAn actor I remember watching when I was young, at the time I did not realise he was in the Army before hand
ReplyDeleteI remember some movies I saw with him when I was a kid but if you asked me some more I don't remember only that there also was a priest somewere.
