Because of coronavirus (COVID-19) attendance is down at shops and restaurants in Chinatown. Some people believe the situation is the result of racism. |

A lot of hype from media sure doesn't help.
ReplyDelete...and the Mayor.
Delete...let's cut to the chase, we are a racist bunch!
ReplyDelete...Don't let John Pavlovitz hear you say that... 乂❤‿❤乂
DeleteI hadn't thought of the ramifications in Chinese neighborhoods. I am very suspicious of the death of the doctor who first reported the virus and was made to sign a rebuttal. He was only in his 30's. It seems he should have been able to fight it.
ReplyDeleteRacism has been happening here too because of it, people are being over cautious and focussing on the wrong things.
ReplyDeleteWhen you see some of the stuff on social media, it disgusts you.
ReplyDeleteI think this virus/disease is scary enough without adding a stigma to an entire race of people. You don't have to be Chinese to get this or to transmit it to others.
ReplyDeleteI love this portrait...it makes me wonder what her day is like...where is she going? What is she making for dinner! I'm nosy like that haha
ReplyDeleteI'm not too concerned about the corona virus...every year the media hypes everyone up about the new virus going around...we do need to be mindful though during flu season!
Not sure anyone in China Town has recently been to Wuhan, but the virus has scared lots of people.
ReplyDeleteAny excuse to exclude any "other" from our lives.
ReplyDeleteNothing surprises me about the actions and attitudes of about 30 percent of the population.
ReplyDeleteWhen the sky falls everyone gets a blue head but some people don't get that.
ReplyDeleteYes this hurts so much, to exclude people who live there for years, maybe all their lives. What can they do to a disease that happens in a far away country!
ReplyDeleteUna magnífica fotografía de calle, de carácter social, como ocurre siempre que usted aborda este tipo de fotografía.
ReplyDeleteUn saludo,
