D-Day
Today is when we remember June 6, 1944. That is when Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of France in WWII. To these people, we owe the freedom that we have today. Let us never forget their sacrifice.

...you are a good historian, I had forgotten about today.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten too, Andy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI did remember...there's something in my brain that says...6/6 is D-Day. What an effort those men made!
ReplyDeleteLest we forget them
ReplyDeleteThat was definitely a turning point brought abut by some very brave people.
ReplyDeleteI have so much respect for those brave souls.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen so little made of D- Day. But, I guess that's natural considering how long ago it was. It was a time of great peril, it was a time when so many people worked together for a common goal. Now it seems that so many of us have forgotten just what it was that almost took us down....
ReplyDeleteWe will be ever obliged for the invasion.
ReplyDeleteAnd so in the end everything disappears.
ReplyDeleteNice reminder.
ReplyDeleteI was at the War Memorial yesterday to pay my respects.
