This commemorative mural, painted in 1996 by artists Phil, Jennifer, and Jamie Richards, depicts passengers boarding a radial car at Stop 17 on the Toronto and York Radial Line. The mural blends symbols of rural heritage with a horse drawn wagon and cow alongside a radial car and gas powered truck. It was a Bicentennial project, initiated by the Community Association.

...this is fabulous and it looks brand new for being painted in 1996!
ReplyDeleteWhat Tom said, looks new.
ReplyDeleteGreat mural...and design-wise it has enough perspective lines to make you believe you're looking into the past. Something besides the brick wall was the base for the medium...we've got a mural on some kind of canvass by our art center. But I can't tell what this one in Scarborough was painted on. It's lucky the graffiti at the side of the cow was painted on a box rather than the cow.
ReplyDeleteThat is great, Andy.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully painted and in great, bright colors.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beauty to watch at!
ReplyDeleteA really beautiful mural. Wonderful detail, and I love the sky!
