Canada Geese

The young are called goslings. They can walk, swim, and feed within 24 hours. Both parents especially the male will vigorously defend the babies until they are able to fly, which is at about ten weeks. The young geese remain with their family group for about one year.

Sea King Number 426

It was my lucky day when I photographed 426 flying over. This particular helicopter spent more than 20 years flying out of Canadian Forces Base, Shearwater Nova Scotia. Presently it is on display in the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa.

Trick photography at work. Using a tripod and a shutter speed of 8 seconds I started with the barbecue's lid open. Halfway through the exposure I close the lid. Pretty simple way to have fun with your photos.
