What A Difference A Year Makes

This photo was taken in my backyard last year on February 6, 2012.
This was not normal. They were sprouting too early

  1. Nature goes his own way these times I think, you can't count on dates anymore...

  2. Big difference! I'm probably strange, but I prefer things the way they are this year.

    1. When the snow came I actual felt good. I guess it was because this is the way things are supposed to be.

  3. I like the first picture better, but I'm sure that "normal" is better all around. Nice juxtaposition!

  4. The unnaturally warm weather has also made me pretty uneasy this winter, I was relieved for snow (never thought I'd say that!)

  5. Nice comparison. Last year people were very worried about the mild winter and what would happen to plants and animals. This year you know there will be moisture and plants will begin their cycle at about the right time.

  6. Here (on the south coast of England) the top one is standard for this time of year - but I wish we had deep snow sometimes.

  7. Wow. That is quite a difference.

  8. Interesting comparison! I think that much snow is only appealing if it's what you're accustomed to. We have bulbs sprouting like your upper photo, but that's what should be happening here around now.

  9. Wow...what a difference a year makes. The second photo certainly seems more typical for February.
