Independence Day July 4th ★★★

Andy | Thursday, July 04, 2013 | Best Blogger Tips

It's party time. Today is America's birthday. If you travel for about twenty miles in the direction that I am pointing you will come to the border between Canada and The United States Of America. Located in the middle of Lake Ontario you will not notice you have reached it. There are no markers or checkpoints. You need to travel another eighteen miles or so before landfall. On this day, July 4, in 1776, Americans declared their independence from Britain.

  4. My son and family are on holidays in America so they are celebrating the holiday. Hubby and I are holidaying at there place. How cool is that.

Babysitting doggie also. All is good in both parts of the world.

I am with you Candy. God Bless our American friends today.

  5. Great shot Andy. And in Saskatchewan the border is just as vague. In many places there are no roads in the area. Now there is more scrutiny of the border even in remote areas.

  8. We're just a little further from Canada than you are from the U.S. - about 30 miles from Victoria. No fanfare when you cross the boundary on water here, either. But the ferry ride is infinitely nicer than lines, patdowns, and all the no-nos in air travel.
