The street is very often the place of meetings or totally surprising situations and it more and more. We knew quieter times but the past is the past. Beautiful street scene

ReplyDeleteThis is a problem that seems to be increasing rather than decreasing.
ReplyDeleteHomelessness is a real problem in this country. The safety net is mostly nonexistent. Mental institutions have closed their doors, and community based services often fail their clients. Police and jails have become America's answer to many social problems. Sweden has partly solved the problem by...providing housing to the homeless. What a concept.

ReplyDeleteWhat a powerful photo! I knew someone who got angry with their teenage son and he came home one night to find all his possessions sitting in the driveway and he was told he no longer had a home by his parents. Fortunately, a good friend of the family came to his rescue even though it meant breaking the relationship with the family and today he's doing very well; finished college and has a good job and recently got married. But too many kids have no such rescue operation in sight. It seems we could do better by them in this country and maybe in your country. You know the old saying, "We can send people to the moon, so we ought to be able to .....:

ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking. Kids shouldn't be out in the world having to fend for themselves like this.
ReplyDeleteSad but hope they don't smoke or drink alcohol, if so they wouldn't get a dime from me - yes, I know I can be hard at times.
