"Photographers see the world rather than just look at it."
...open water and feed are key.
I remember several years ago seeing one hang out all winter with a flock of ducks that stay near open water on one of the rivers.
If I had wings I would be gone! Especially this winter, Andy.
Canada geese are tough birds that don't seem to mind the cold so long as there is food available. But they do have goose down coats.
There is a pair down here that have been making a lot of noise every morning for the past two weeks. The one's in your area must be well insulated.
Those geese are hardcore and don't let the winter bother them.
There are a zillion of the geese around here now--- We actually see more geese than ducks.
I think they have a difficult time in winter.
Tough time for the ducks.
