I always wonder if boats can be damaged by the freezing water around them.

Wonderful photo of this ice locked commercial fishing boat once so common on the Great Lakes. This one is in great condition for being 40 years old.

We haven't seen such winters for a long time here, it is now and then a bit frost but that doesn't last long.
Great shot again Andy. Love that white on white from ship and snow. In these conditions, boaters in Holland always carved an open channel around their boat to prevent the ice from compressing the hull.
