When snow is on the ground, it will look much brighter outside. The colour white is highly reflective, so light scatters in all directions and more of that light reaches your eyes. This is why it looks bright at night when it snows.

ReplyDeleteThe first couple of decades here we only saw a chance of snow in December or January. But this last decade has brought us February snow more often. Temperatures have warmed up enough that I am hopeful we won't have any.
