...and what is hiding beneath the blue tarp?
ReplyDeleteTook on min on Google 1939 Cadillac Series 75 Convertible Coupe, nice car
ReplyDeleteCan't ague with the Cord, I checked on Google and found the cord but it did say Cadaillac which it looks noting like.
DeleteMy guess would be a Cord https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25593/lot/483/
ReplyDeleteThere were several in that era that had that hood and fender shape.
I have no idea! Fun to see it though.
ReplyDeleteOh, Andy, this is a wonderful classic Cord 810/812. If it is an original Cord, it is from 1936 or 1937, but a Corvair engine version was introduced in 1964-1966. My guess is that your car is the later version. The Cord design was similar to the French 1934 Citroen Traction Avante, an innovative car with a unibody, front wheel drive and many other innovations. E.L.Cord designed and built the car in Auburn, Indiana. For its day it was a great looking luxury car that was both fast and agile, but failed to sell well because of the depression. There was an S model that was supercharged for added power. The blue tarp is probably over this car because it is a convertible that might need a new top. If the car is for sale, you should buy it. It would be great fun.
ReplyDeleteI did look up the Cord that is mentioned above and it does seem to match up perfectly. I'm impressed with the retractable headlamps. I thought that was something more modern. Boy was I wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shy beauty for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeless with car identification.
ReplyDeleteOh don't ask me. I don't know anything about cars, don't even have a drivers license either...
ReplyDeleteSomeone doesn't want it to get wet, well that top of it.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that it is a "replica" Cord--- as Jeff pointed out. But it just might be a very hard to find original.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a Cord indeed.Saw one once in Loumans automobile museum in the Hague.
ReplyDeleteNot sure sorry but it's a beauty, it has potential.
