Lake Ice

All cracks in ice are caused by stress. It comes mostly from temperature changes in the ice sheet.

    Cracks in ice always make me feel nervouse...even when the ice is thick.

    I wouldn't be too stressed about walking on that ice, it's probably a foot thick.

    We see cracks here along stretches of the Canal, but they're nothing to worry about.

    That ice looks thick enough to walk on, but I'm always nervous about walking out on the ice.
