Sunlight Glare

Andy | Thursday, February 01, 2018 | | Best Blogger Tips
Believe it or not, this is not a B&W photo. It was a bright sunny day and the sunlight was causing a brilliant light reflection off the water. That in turn bleached any colours from the scene. The two on the breakwall were doing the same thing as me... taking pictures.

  1. I like very much this back light with both characters who give life to the landscape. A very well built photo

    1. Funny you should mention that. I haven't taken many photos lately but from viewing Andy's over time I began to realize many of my photos have no 'life' be it man or animal. Neither may be right or wrong but it does make a difference in some way.

  3. Yest those lights are sometimes so bright, everything changes in black and white. Great photo.

  4. I would have thought b&w if you hadn't pointed out it wasn't. Now I can pick up just a hint of blue in the water.

  5. shots east or west at twilight are equally challenging, to get the color and light right.

  7. What a powerful image this is. It almost looks like the guys on the breakwall are in some peril. What a shot.

  8. Yowsa! What a shot! It looks like "cold hath its fury!" I think I'd stay off the breakwater, though. Wouldn't want to slip-slide away into that freezing water!

  9. You could have fooled me. I thought this was a sepia tinted b&w photo. Great reflections off the water.

  12. Absolutely beautiful photo! I had the same thing when I was out taking photos just prior to a snowfall last weekend, everything was white and my photos looked b/w.

  13. I think you've done well with the photo, I've had many times when the sun's glare on the water has been a bit too bright.

  14. Your photo is different and lovely, would be better than the other two standing there. It always fascinates me as to what light does to a photo and the sun.
