Tundra Swans

On their way to Arctic Region between Alaska and Baffin Island the swans stop here to refuel on their migration journey.
___

Each year it's expected that ten to sixty thousand birds will stopover here. The best time to view vast numbers of swans is early morning or late evening. Unfortunately I was there midday when their numbers are reduced.

  1. I still can't count them Andy. Nice.

  2. I can't imagine how crowded it must be at peak hours. Wonderful that they have preserved a space for the swans and our other natural species.

  3. Which happiness it has to be to see so many swans at the same time. Your photo 2 is magnificent Andy

  6. The number of swans is -even at midday- amazing to see. I also like your first photo; could it be a group of nuns?

  7. I love it. So many swans, so many nuns! Hallelujah! Re Mr. Nicholls' comment: There are a wide variety of configurations for nuns. Some are more detached from the world, others embrace it. Not a few wear regular clothes and work in worldly endeavors.

  8. Andy, even you saw Tundra swans in midday, there are plenty of them. And they are so beautiful!
And the first photo of nuns is also great!
