This barn is on land that is schedule for a proposed airport.

The airport has been in limbo since 1972. Just a few days ago the long awaited report into a potential airport in Pickering came out. It showed there will be no immediate need for an airport in Pickering until at least 2038, when demand at Toronto Pearson and Billy Bishop Airport could exceed capacity.

  1. I really like American or Canadian barns, they have a charm that ours don't have.

  2. I like the barn, it has lots of character. Who really knows what the situation would/could be with the airport in 2038.

  5. Nice barn and judging from the vehicles there, it's still in use. I wonder how much air travel will have changed by 2038.

  10. Perhaps this old barn will stand for a long time given the lack of need for an airport and the local opposition to it.

  11. Great looking barn. It looks like it has a reprieve for a while. And, who knows? With concern about carbon footprints maybe a new airport won't be needed.
