According to the Clarington Visitors Guide it's one of Canada’s oldest operating water powered mills still employing methods and machinery of the last century. They produce lumber, specialty millwork, and stone ground flour. Cider, doughnuts (yummy), honey, preserves, apple butter, Empire cheese, baked goods and stone ground flour available year round. Antique Wood-working Shop on second floor. OPEN MONDAY TO SATURDAY 9 AM-6 PM SUNDAY 12 PM - 5 PM Located in Tyrone, 13 km North of Hwy. 401 at Liberty St., (Exit 432) Bowmanville.

  2. I'm not a donut fan but theirs are pretty good. I spend a lot of time in Bowmanville and we've found ourselves in their shop a couple of times. A return visit might be in order soon. Thanks a LOT! ;)

    Have you ever been to Hope Mill? It's also an old lumber mill still in operation. It's up around Peterborough somewhere. We took my MiL there last summer and she enjoyed it. They didn't have baked goods though! ;)
