Boxing Day - December 26
Many people in Canada have the day off work and many of them visit stores that start their annual Boxing week sales. Shoppers like theses ones start lining up outside stores early in the morning for door crashing sales. This photo was taken at 5:30 A.M. and store is schedule to open at 6 A.M. Canadians have a reputation of being polite. Because of that you will not see any mob mentality shopping here. It's cold out and I only went out to take some photos. I did all of my
Boxing Day shopping online on Christmas Day.

Mayan Calendar - BOOM!
As you’re no doubt aware, Dec. 21, 2012 has taken on special significance as the day the Maya Long Count Calendar ends. Some people believe that this signifies the end of the world. Since they are predicting such a bad day I will be staying inside and watching the
whole thing on CNN with Wolf Blitzer.

Signs, Signs - Street
When you look at a street sign in The Town Of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, you are looking at history. Most of the streets have been named after the officers and men that served on the HMS Ajax at the World War II Battle of the River Plate. A battleship silhouette in the lower right hand side indicates the street names that honour the crew members. I'm linking to Lesley's Signs, Signs.

Signs - Trains And People: A Deadly Mix
This week in the newspaper I read a sad report about a 11 year old girl, that was killed after being hit at a level crossing, trying to outrun a freight train. If you know children or adults that have to use a level crossing please stress to them they must obey the signs and signals near railway crossings. Flashing lights and bells mean the train is coming. Stop, look and listen before they cross.

Weekly Top Shot- Delta London (Ontario) Armouries Hotel
Not a castle, but rather a hotel built within an authentic Armoury. Originally constructed in 1905, it was the location for training Canadian soldiers during the two world wars. Inside you will find archival photographs, uniforms and other wartime artifacts on display.

The east entrance remains as a reminder that it once was once a military building where arms, ammunition and other military equipment were stored. I'm Linking to Weekly Top Shot.
