Many people in Canada have the day off work and many of them visit stores that start their annual Boxing week sales. Shoppers like theses ones start lining up outside stores early in the morning for door crashing sales. This photo was taken at 5:30 A.M. and store is schedule to open at 6 A.M. Canadians have a reputation of being polite. Because of that you will not see any mob mentality shopping here. It's cold out and I only went out to take some photos. I did all of my
Boxing Day shopping online on Christmas Day.
I'm with you, I much prefer shopping sales online - but this crowd looks pretty tame - it's nice you don't have to deal with the mob mentality!ReplyDelete
Now that is dedication to your art...getting up at 5:30..braving the cold temps...for a great shot! This is kinda like our 'Black Fridays' I am guessing. I am getting to be more of an online shopper myself...better deals/more selection...since I live in the country.ReplyDelete
Ho ho ho, Andy, my husband was up early with the dog, but didn't go to Future Shop until a tiny bit later. He got the things we wanted at excellent Boxing Day prices, and I slept in. Perfect division of labor. He loves the Boxing Day sales and they terrify me, even though we're a polite people in Canada.ReplyDelete
Thanks for the photo. Hope you're having a nap this afternoon.
Your last line made me laugh. You sure are a dedicated photographer to be out there that early on this cold, windy morning.ReplyDelete
I hope you had a lovely Christmas, Andy.
It's normal for me to be up at that time of day.Delete
What a dedicated blogger you are, Andy! I was sound asleep at that time.ReplyDelete
I have been think about doing this for a few weeks now. It's not the best shot but it will have to do.Delete
5:30 AM on your day off, that's really really early Andy. Great to hear about this tradition though.ReplyDelete
Every day is my day off... I'm retired.Delete
Been there done that up early to take pics. Merry Christmas !ReplyDelete
Taking pictures at 5:30 a.m.? You are devoted to your photo blog! At least you didn't have to fight the crowds.ReplyDelete
Lines of people? Cold? Dark? Early morning? The internet looks better all the time.ReplyDelete
Egads, Andy... 5:30 am? Even with my jet lag, 7 am is best I can muster... just in time to capture that one amazing sunrise - I really don't see those often! LOL!ReplyDelete
