Every time I go into a forest it always reminds of Bill Bryson's book "A Walk In The Woods".

I like to walk off the beaten path.

I have no clue as to why there is a "X" marked on this old remains of a tree. Woodpeckers perhaps?
Not loggers sign then. But how good looks a wood with a bit of sun. Great.
ReplyDeleteNice autumn walk with all those leaves. Those marks here means mostly a cut down of the tree....
ReplyDeletePerfect weather for a walk in the forest.
ReplyDeleteNice photos, Andy!
ReplyDeleteIt is not very dense forest, when the sun gets through. But it is the best place for walking in a beautiful day like this.
ReplyDeleteOff the path is the way to go, that's where the cool stuff is.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a walking the woods in the autumn. I love that book too!
ReplyDeleteI would think the tree's meant to be cut down eventually. It looks dead, anyway.
ReplyDeleteAutumn color and sunshine--- what more could you want!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great spot, Andy!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great book - lots of good laughs. It's out as a movie now, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm pretty sure the "X" marks a dead tree that's full of insects woodpeckers are feasting on.
Around here an X marks a tree for removal.
ReplyDeleteThat book you read sounds interesting. I must go to the library to see if it is in.
ReplyDeleteWhat category is it in ? Mystery, Adventures?
Looks like a nice place to walk and enjoy nature, Andy!
