This is one of the best portrait murals I have seen. Unfortunately the building is slated to be demolished and condos will be built on the site.

Nomophobia

Nomophobia is the irrational fear of being without your mobile phone or being unable to use your phone for some reason, such as the absence of a signal or running out of minutes or battery power. Young adults aged between 18 and 24 tended to be the most addicted to their mobile phones, with 77 per cent unable to stay apart for more than a few minutes, and those aged 25 to 34 followed at 68 per cent. Cell Phone Culture

In the UK, it is called a mobile, in Canada cell phone, in Latin America celular, in Japan keitai (portable), in China shou-ji (hand machine), in Bangladesh muthophone (phone in the palm of your hand), in Sweden nalle (teddy bear), in Israel Pelephone (wonder phone) and in Germany a handy. Buddhist Statues

This is a continuation from yesterday's post (view here) at the Duc Quang Buddhist Centre, London, Ontario.

Facing opposite, six more statues. I wish I could explain their meaning. Unfortunately I was not able to find any info about them.

Buddhist Temple

Located at the Duc Quang Buddhist Centre you will find a a cluster of white marble statues. Before the temple, the site was home to Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church. Starting in 2005 the Monks began using the church to practice Buddhism. When the 100 year old building was razed in 2012, they decided to build a temple there for their small community. “The place was very holy, that’s why we wanted to make a Buddhist Temple here,” says monk Thich Chan Phap.

Silo

There used to be a barn located directly in front of the silo. Look carefully and you can see the pieces of the barn on the ground.

I am back at my favourite location for viewing the sunrise. On this occasion the nuclear power plant was in process of releasing steam. That in turn gave a nice blockage in front to the sun.

Humorously Exaggerated

The artist (unknown) has expressed in humour their view of The City Of Toronto. The buildings have personality, there is a streetcar and a subway. Don't worry about the smiling guy tied to the tracks. The train as stopped and not moving.

She looks like she could be living on the street, but I don't think so. This is Chinatown... the homeless and the panhandlers do not hang out here. She is just taking a break drinking her coffee.

His job... compliance with parking laws. A bright yellow parking ticket on your windshield can range from $30 to $450 in fines.

Apple Tree

At onetime this lot was a thriving apple orchard. That ceased a few years back. I think the reason for that is urban sprawl is gradually moving closer. PS: This is the last photo I will be posting with snow from the winter of 2017 - 2018.
