Built in 1930 the Dominion Bank is located on the southwest corner of Yonge and Gerrard Streets in The City Of Toronto. It has been designated heritage site by the Toronto Historical Board.

No longer a bank it is now the Elephant and Castle Pub. Designed in 1930 by John M. Lyle, with carvings that represent Canadian agriculture and industry.

Another one on the outside of the building is a large medallion that pays tribute to Queen Victoria. .

  2. It is almost dwarfed by the big building behind. A pub, hmmm, at least it is not demolished.

  3. Nice art deco. Those details are now missing in architecture. Must be a nice place for taking a pint.

  4. I wonder what Victoria would think about a bank turned into a pub. :))

  6. It's an elegant building so I'd guess the pub is also quite elegant.
