Drummer

Peter Richards is regular street Busker on the corner of Yonge St. and Dundas St., West in Toronto. Some people view Buskers as panhandlers but this is the furthest thing from the truth. One must have a street entertainer's permit from the city. There are rules... no obstruction of narrow sidewalks, not playing directly on street corners and no amplifiers. Apparently one of the worst things about street busking is the retirement plan.

  5. Re your response to Tom: The USA has become the land run by crackpots. Re this shot: the busker is giving it his all. But what a tough way to make a living. There's a lot of freedom but not much security as you mentioned.

  6. Love your busy street scene. This busker does not seem to be attracting much attention. Use to have Nebraska friends who were street buskers on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. They called themselves the Charlie Starkweather Blues Band.

  7. We don't see these buskers here in Phoenix but, I've certainly seem them in other cities. The only one I can think of is a lady who sings outside of Symphony Hall whenever there is a performance there. This guy looks like he might be pretty good at it.

  12. I'd imagine this is a good way to keep in practice but it's got to be hard putting out ones art to be just part of the background.

  13. We have similar rules in our city but we don't often see a busker.
