When I was 7 years old and visiting relatives in Newfoundland we went up to the "pond" to skate. Many years later I went by the same pond and had no idea how we were accomplishing anything as it was about the size of a 10x10 bedroom! I also remember sliding down snowy front yards on pieces of old linoleum...seriously! Thanks for bringing up some great memories, Andy.
Here the cars would be bicycles but otherwise.
ReplyDeleteA nice sport to do in the open air.
ReplyDeleteIn Minnesota, in my youth, we did the same thing. Had great times. A nice memory-jerker, Andy, thanks!
ReplyDeleteMany a NHL player learned their skills from doing this way.
DeleteHow fun!! I love the title you gave it.
ReplyDeleteLove to see so many folks (especially younger ones) enjoying the outdoors. Perhaps they were out celebrating the NHL lockout being settled.
ReplyDeleteNow that the NHL is back, they might have a few less spectators. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of moments living in Boston in my long-ago college years:) Nice, fresh winter captures!
ReplyDeletenice!
ReplyDeletebut i could never skate and do something else at the same time..
Good to see people out of doors having fun!

ReplyDeleteAt the price they want to get paid. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Like your pictures how you presented the heading first take. Why so many cars?
To let us scroll down to second then # 3. Excellent Andy.
What kind of camera are you using. Pictures are so big, clear and beautiful.
I have Canon Rebel XS.
DeleteAs a kid I played hockey on a pond near our place. Had a great time. Thank for the memories.
ReplyDeleteWith the changing weather the outdoor rinks are now rare.
DeleteA timely post Andy with hockey being the top story in Canada right now!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! And how very Canadian! Nice series.
ReplyDeleteFor Canadians, a flashy car is medium gray, I see!
ReplyDeleteOnly the rat rink variety of Canadians drive gray cars:-)
