I love the juxtaposition of old and new - very nice shot!
ReplyDeleteIts a contrast for sure but I am not sure that somebody did a lot of thinking about the match of this 2 buildings.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beauty, Andy. It has the same Romanesque brownstone architecture as Boston's Trinity Church, a landmark designed by Henry H. Richardson.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I hate that glass tower, I have taken several photos of these two buildings from this angle and almost always find the juxtaposition pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the brick building much more than the glass one in the back. It has more history to me.
ReplyDeleteLove the clock tower. These old buildings altho expensive to maintain are real treasures. That's a lot of bikes parked in front!
ReplyDeletethese old city halls are the best aren't they?!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous structure. Don't see many like this here anymore, although growing up in Minneapolis, there were some similar buildings. (Not in Ocala! :))
ReplyDeleteNeat reflection, Andy! I see you have invaded RedPat's domain. :))
ReplyDeleteWhat a different look of modern. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Andy as usual. Thumbs up.
It is a grand old building!
ReplyDeleteThese building were impressive on the outside as well as the inside.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. It's funny but just a couple of days ago, someone commented on a post of mine from 2007. Among my photos was one of those gargoyles that are visible on the clock tower above. Not realizing that this was Old City Hall, I had referred to it as a gargoyle on a church. The comment informed me of the error. And now, here it is again. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite buildings. Can't believe they ever thought about tearing it down to build a shopping centre! Glad it was saved and is still being used. :)
